A plump turkey stands tall upon a textured wooden log while spreading wide tail feathers in a grand fan, accompanied by two leaves and tufts of grass on the ground below. Young artists quickly color the large tail segments using bold markers, whereas the tiny neck ruff dots demand a pointed colored pencil. Shade the fanned feathers in rich copper and brown tones while painting the log an earthy gray. Children can use the finished artwork to decorate a Thanksgiving dinner place card.
