Several worker insects patrol winding subterranean tunnels connecting storage chambers filled with larvae and small stones beneath a grassy mound. Large tunnel paths accommodate broad strokes from colored markers, whereas tiny insect antennae require careful attention with a pointed pen. Color the hardworking insects in shades of dark brown and black, while keeping the underground chambers a sandy tan. Use the completed subterranean scene to start a science lesson about insect habitats.
