Scientist Coloring PageLaunching a Model Rocket

A young scientist wearing protective goggles kneels on the grass and presses a launch button that sends a small rocket soaring upward amidst billowing smoke clouds. Standard wax crayons quickly cover the large coat and grassy ground, whereas the thin rocket fins and electrical wires require patient control from a sharp colored pencil. Paint the rocket white and red with orange flames bursting from the engine nozzle. Use the finished illustration as a prompt for creative storytelling about outdoor inventions during a language arts lesson.
