Mary sits calmly upon a sturdy donkey traveling along a dusty desert path while Joseph walks beside holding a tall wooden staff. Large garments and the animal body invite sweeping pastel strokes, but narrow straps on sandals and detailed headscarf folds require a sharp colored pencil. Color the donkey in gentle gray, Mary in soft blue, and Joseph in warm tan robes. Frame the completed religious artwork within a wooden mount for display during the Christmas season.
