Three ears of flint corn hang downward, bound tightly at the top by a knotted twine cord amidst dry, rippling husk leaves. Shading every individual kernel across the three cobs requires a sharp colored pencil, although the broad loops in the string bow accept softer markers. Color the husks in pale straw yellow and fill the kernels with rich autumn shades of deep red, purple, orange, and brown. Cut out the completed artwork to decorate a Thanksgiving dinner table placemat.
