A joyful young child in a sun hat kneels on the sand to build a tall turreted castle alongside a cheerful puppy and a small bucket. Broad expanses on the castle walls accept wide felt pens easily, whereas the tiny star shape on the fluttering flag requires a sharp colored pencil. Shade the child's shorts in bright blue and paint the floppy puppy in soft golden yellow. Cut out the finished beach scene to use as a colorful placemarker for a summer pool party table.
