A round kiwi bird with a long curved beak stands among rocky ground, lush mossy mounds, and towering fern fronds arching overhead. Shading the broad body and chunky legs requires soft pastel strokes, but the narrow fern leaves and tiny flower centers need a pointed colored pencil. Rich brown and tan shades bring out the fuzzy texture of the bird while vibrant green fills the background foliage. Cut out the finished animal shape to create a playful decoration for an endangered species geography lesson.
